Matthew Ives and his Big Band – Buckland Church
Matthew Ives and his Big Band return to the Buckland Church for our annual summer concert featuring talented vocalist Di Richards. There’s no better way to enjoy summer than listening to live music in the outdoors. Enjoy a lazy Sunday afternoon of jazz at the Buckland Church as part of the ongoing fund raising efforts by Friends of Buckland Church – Tasmania.
Bring a folding chair or picnic blanket and relax in the church yard to the sounds of a 17 piece jazz orchestra. Matt Ives Big Band play everything from Sinatra, Glenn Miller, Ella Fitzgerald and Benny Goodman through to tunes from the 1960s, 70s, 80s and beyond. You will be foot-tapping, finger-clicking and jiving away all afternoon.
Food and drinks will be available to purchase throughout the afternoon including Gert & Ted’s Food Truck, Lickalicious Icecream and The Vestibule Bar will be open serving wines, cold beer and cider.
All profits from ticket sales go towards the Friends of Buckland Church (FOBC) for ongoing costs and maintenance of our beautiful old church. Many of our food & drink stalls donate to FOBC from their sales on the day
