Hug Mug and Snack Plate Workshop

The Hug Mug and Snack Plate Workshop invites visitors to slow down and enjoy making pottery with artist Christie Lange in her Binalong Bay studio on Tasmania’s Bay of Fires.
Using the simple pinching technique, participants shape a comforting mug to cup between their palms and a matching plate for a favourite snack. Christie provides clear demonstrations and individual guidance, helping each maker explore the clay and develop pieces with their own character.
Suitable for beginners and children aged eight and over, this relaxed workshop offers a creative experience for friends, families, couples or visitors enjoying some time to themselves. No previous pottery experience is needed.
Set within a leafy garden, Christie’s working studio provides a welcoming place to discover the pleasure of making by hand. Enjoy refreshments and conversation while shaping useful objects that can become part of everyday rituals at home.
Clay, tools, glazes, kiln firings and artist tuition are included. Finished pieces remain at the studio for glazing and firing, ready for collection approximately four to six weeks later. Visitors unable to return for collection can discuss postage arrangements with Christie.
